Tip 1 – When to clean solar panels?

Solar panels are best cleaned in early spring, as the full solar season is still ahead then. The highest yields are achieved in the summer period based on the high number of sunlight hours. If you clean the solar panels when there is a lot of sunlight, you run the risk that the cleaning water will dry too quickly and leave stains or residue.

Tip 2 – Be alert for stains

Note! With a solar panel, be extra vigilant for stains, such as bird droppings, and try to remove them as soon as possible. These spots are seen as shadow spots on a solar panel, which can affect the yield. And you do not want that.

We do live in a country where the weather can be very unpredictable and a good downpour can also fall regularly. This is often enough to rinse your solar panels clean.

Tip 3 – Do not use soap

Never use soap to clean dirty solar panels! Sometimes people attack the solar panels with washing-up liquid. Don’t do this!

Almost all solar panels have a dirt-repellent coating. If you are going to use detergent, it can affect the coating. Instead, you can use tap water or organic detergent combined with a soft brush or sponge. It is also not an obligation to climb the roof yourself.
